Welcome to Shared Stage - The Creative Hub for the Over 50s in East Sussex
This website has been developed through the Shared Stage programme which ran from October 2009 to March 2010 and was managed by local charity Shaping Voices. Almost 200 East Sussex residents, aged over 50, were given the opportunity of free training sessions in IT, music creation, creative writing and web design skills. Courses ran in all five districts of the County.
The Shared Stage website is open to all residents over 50 years of age, living in East Sussex to showcase their creative material. Its purpose is to enable you to share your creativity with others. The website is open to anyone to come and visit our showcase.
To find out how you can submit your own original material for publication on this site please see our submissions page.
The site will contain:
- Stories, poems, writing of all genres.
- Musical compositions
- Photography
- Art.
We also invite you to join the creative arts group, where you can explore your interests or widen them to new areas, or to join in our forums.
Shared Stage enables you to have your work appreciated by others and be inspired to continue in your creative pursuits. You will retain the copyright to your work, and so are free to sell it to others should you so wish.
The Shared Stage project was funded by the Transformation Fund, a government initiative to encourage adults into informal learning.
Our partners in this project were: Sound Architect (Music and Film) Ltd., East Sussex County Council, East Sussex Libraries, WRVS, Help the Aged, Age Concern, Care for the Carers and the De La Warr Pavilion.
